In der Reihe der äußerst stabilen und unempfindlichen Hand-Computer, den so genannten „Rugged“ PDA’s oder Handhelds, ist die DT-4xx Serie herausragend. Das geringe Gewicht und die handlichen Abmessungen verbinden sich mit einem robusten und widerstandsfähigen Gehäuse zu einem wirklich brauchbaren Werkzeug für Außendienstler, Service- und Logistik Personal.
Der integrierte Magnetkartenleser eignet sich z.B. im Gastronomiebereich hervorragend zum Zahlen per Lastschrift.
In der Grundausstattung sind bereits umfangreiche Kommunikationsvarianten zur Anbindung des PDA’s über WLAN, Bluetooth oder IrDA-Infrarot enthalten. Die Tastatur wird einfach eingeblendet. Als Optionen sind Scanner für 1D und/oder 2D-Barcodes erhältlich, sowie ein RFID-Leser (auch zusätzlich). Hot-Swappable-Batterien können im laufenden Betrieb gewechselt werden und verlängern die Einsatzdauer praktisch unendlich.
